Workshop 1 is a pre-requisite for all other workshops in the Canvas Transition Training series.​

In this workshop, you’ll learn how Canvas is organized and how to get around. You will be introduced to the tools in Canvas and how they compare to tools you currently use in Sakai. You'll learn basic course setup and management tasks, such as editing your course home page, posting a syllabus, customizing settings, publishing your course, etc. Along the way, we will explore some notable features of Canvas, including the Inbox, Speedgrader, and Calendar. At the end of the workshop, you’ll be able to log in to Canvas, access your practice course, and complete required homework assignments. Then you’ll be prepared to take other workshops in the series to gain a deeper understanding of important tools in Canvas.

Completion of workshops 1, 2 and 3 is required to gain access to your Summer and/or Fall 2023 courses on Canvas.
