Canvas is Durham Tech’s learning management system. This self-paced, online workshop is designed to help instructors get up and running quickly with the basics of using the system.
Completion of Canvas Essentials for Instructors is required in order to use Canvas as an instructor at Durham Tech.
★ Note: Instructors who have prior experience teaching with Canvas may qualify for a training waiver. Talk with your supervisor if you are interested in pursuing a training waiver.
This workshop is offered online, allowing you to work at your own pace, whenever or wherever is convenient for you. The workshop contains 10 modules with information to review, videos to watch, and activities to complete.
You’ll learn how to: set up your course Home page; post your syllabus; add instructional content, navigate the gradebook, and communicate with students.
To receive credit for the workshop, you must satisfactorily complete all required modules and activities.
