Creating Accessible Online Content

To comply with federal and state laws, it’s important for learning content that instructors place online to be accessible to all students regardless of disability. What does it mean for online content to be accessible? How can instructors create accessible learning materials? In this session, Amy Netzel, Accessibility Technologist at Wake Tech, will explain what online accessibility is, who it affects, and why it’s important. And she will share specific tips instructors can start using today to make their learning materials more accessible. Instructors who teach online or hybrid courses are strongly encouraged to attend. The presentation is appropriate for those who teach face-to-face classes as well.
