NC3ADL Virtual Conference - Online Together: We Are 58 Strong (Afternoon Sessions)

In celebration of National Distance Learning Week, Instructional Technologies will host a drop-in viewing location for NC3ADL’s Online Together: We Are 58 Strong virtual conference. This online conference reflects some of the shared values that are important to distance learning including: building community, fostering engagement, and being inclusive to everyone.

We’d love for you to join us in the Technologies Building, Lab 219 to enjoy some snacks and watch one or more of the afternoon sessions. Please RSVP by registering by the end of the day on Wednesday, November 7th.

  • 1:30 Keynote 3: Tools for "Being There” for Our Online Students 
    Dr. Torria Davis Author of Visual Design for Online Learning
    This workshop will follow up the morning keynote with specific technologies for demonstrating “being there” in your online classrooms. At the end of the workshop, you’ll be able to apply specific technologies immediately today, tomorrow, and/or next semester.​
  • 2:30 Keynote 4: Are You Available? Social Presence in Online Classes
    Allegra Davis Hanna Online English Instructor and Department Chair of Humanities, Tarrant County College Connect Campus
    ​Attendees will have the opportunity to see live online classes that use various engaging strategies to increase instructor presence, such as webinars, podcasts, videos and images. Technical information, like what equipment and software you’d need to launch similar initiatives will also be provided.
