Presentation Description:  A session for enrollment, counseling, career coaches, and other student-facing staff, focused on practical ways AI can streamline their day-to-day work. Rather than centering the conversation on student misuse, this one centers on making their own roles more efficient- communications, documentation, scheduling, and advising support.

AI in the Liberal Arts/Humanities Course

Facilitator: Dr. Lane Freeman, Director of Online Learning, NCCCS

Presentation Description:  A working session focused on redesigning existing assignments, so AI is thoughtfully incorporated as part of the human loop, rather than something to police or avoid. Faculty leave with at least one redesigned assignment from their own course.

CTE Focused AI Working Session

Facilitator: Dr. Lane Freeman, Director of Online Learning, NCCCS

Presentation Description:  A working faculty session tailored to career and technical education fields, exploring how AI is showing up in the industries your CTE programs feed into, and how instructors can adapt curriculum and instruction to keep pace with employer expectations. Faculty leave with at least one redesigned assignment from their own course.

Mental Health First Aid (MHHFA) Training

Mental Health First Aid (MHFA) is a skills-based training course that teaches participants to identify, understand, and respond to mental health and substance use challenges. This is a mixed course to meet the demands of both students and employees of Durham Technical Community College. Facilitators of the learning experience are Ms. Willa Robinson, Durham County Department of Public Health (DCDPH) and Dr. Letitia Johnson-Arnold, MS, CHES, NBC-HWC, CHWI Community Health Worker Coordinator/Instructor, Durham Technical Community College

Working Smarter with AI: Integrating AI with intention.

Facilitator: Dr. Cathy James-Springer, Director, Organizational Development and Learning.

Level: Intermediate (Level 2)

This interactive workshop introduces a simple practical way to evaluate how AI can support your daily work. Participants will explore three possible approaches to working with AI, thinking about automation, collaboration, and human-centered activities. Through guided activities and discussion, attendees will build confidence, clarity, and a personalized plan for integrating AI in ways that enhance work and not replace human expertise.
