UNC-W Flood After-Action Report

UNC-Wilmington experienced severe flooding as a result of Hurricane Florence in September 2018. The campus was devastated to the point that it was closed for several weeks due to buildings and residential halls being uninhabitable. 

During this interactive presentation, UNC-W Police Chief David Donaldson will share his after-action report, how UNC-W reacted from an emergency preparedness standpoint, and lessons learned. 

 

CPR/BB/AED Training

The Durham Tech Police Dept. is hosting CPR/AED training. The course provides training for people who are expected to respond to emergencies as part of their job duties. As a professional rescuer, you will learn to recognize and provide care for respiratory and cardiac emergencies. You will learn how to correctly use an Automated External Defibrillator to aid in cardiac emergencies. 

Women’s Self- Defense

The Rape Aggression Defense (RAD) System is a program of realistic, self-defense tactics and techniques. It is a comprehensive course for women that begins with awareness, prevention, risk reduction and avoidance, while progressing on to the basics of hands-on defense training​.  Registration is required.

NOTE: Wear comfortable clothes like tee shirt, tennis shoes, long pants. Bring towel and water bottle.
